Biomimetic Design For a Bicycle

When looking at a bicycle, you may wonder, how can we improve performance on the bicycle using design principles? Could biomimicry improve transportation performances by modifying bicycle designs? Many would believe that biomimetic design is the future of innovative design. By using science and art to create innovative inspirations from nature, we can make designs that can be more efficient and sustainable as well. At its core biomimicry is solving human design challenges using biological solutions. Biomimicry isn’t new either as it has been used for centuries. This project aims to try and implement biomimicry into bicycles, mostly focusing on urban and track bicycles.
